New Coastal rules may hinder development.

Officials from civic agencies told chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh that CMZ restricted the use of additional FSI,which could hamper major projects like Dharavi redevelopment,MTHL, Mumbai International Airport project and many SRA projects would come to standstill.When Sharad Pawar expressed concern in the meeting with the ministers.Deshmukhasked for the extension in the deadline for submission of objections/suggestions on CMZ notification.In a report by MMRDA,BMC and CIDCO,the agencies expressed apprehension about provisions in the notification and sought clarity on points like ascertaining the Set back Line.(SBL)
